EXHUMING THE TRUTH
Exhuming the Truth is a platform dedicated to public education, awareness, and advocacy in relation to crime, justice, and the human impact of systemic failure.
Through storytelling, research-informed discussion, and trauma-aware communication, Exhuming the Truth seeks to increase public understanding of how individuals, families, and communities are affected by crime, violence, and unresolved injustice.
The work of Exhuming the Truth is grounded in compassion, ethical responsibility, and a commitment to amplifying overlooked voices while respecting the dignity of those impacted by harm.
Exhuming the Truth operates media and educational content that encourages informed public discussion, critical thinking, and community awareness. This includes storytelling and commentary intended to foster understanding of investigative processes, systemic gaps, and the lived experiences of victims and families.
Exhuming the Truth is supported by Exhuming the Truth Hope Project Ltd, a separate not-for-profit entity established to deliver charitable education, advocacy, and community support initiatives.

About us
Hi!
Thank you for being here.
I'm Asha Walther - investigative storyteller, victim advocate, and founder of Exhuming the Truth. With a background in criminology, crime science, forensic biology, toxicology, and trauma-informed education, I am driven by a relentless commitment to uncover buried truths and challenge systemic injustice.
Whether I am amplifying the voices of the missing or victims of crime, analyzing cold cases, or creating tools to help children navigate big emotions safely or yapping away on our Podcast, everything I do is grounded in truth, empathy, and the belief that real change starts with being unafraid to look deeper.

Luke Gilbert

"Shot Dead - When Police Kill, Who Polices the Police?" is a book written by Luke's Mother, Nicola Gilbert, giving a raw and honest recount of the injustices that saw not just the death of Luke, but the blatant disregard for accountability and honesty the Gilbert family have been forced to endure.
You can buy this book today on Amazon.
Luke Gilbert was born in Manchester, England, in May of 1998. His family moved to Australia in 2003 in search of a better life.
Luke was shot and killed by Police in Queensland on the 1st of October, 2022.
